Accessibility Statement
The Association of German Machine Tool Manufacturers (VDW) aims to ensure that this website can be used by as many people as possible—regardless of any visual, hearing, motor, or cognitive impairments. This statement describes the current state of accessibility on nexgem.de and how you can report barriers to us.
Scope
This statement applies to the nexgem.de website, including the legal texts linked there. Deutsche Messe AG is responsible for registration, ticket purchases, and customer accounts; its own accessibility statement applies to these areas.
Current Status of Accessibility
We adhere to the EN 301 549 standard and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) Version 2.1, Conformity Level AA. According to our own assessment dated September 8, 2026, this website complies with these requirements. In particular, the following has been implemented:
- The site is fully operable via the keyboard. The Q&A list is implemented using buttons whose “open” or “closed” state is announced by screen readers.
- All images that convey information have alternative text. The background animation in the header is described and plays without sound.
- Body text is displayed in black on a white background, achieving a contrast ratio of 21:1. Navigation, headings and links are displayed in dark blue on white, achieving 7.2:1. White text on accent colours is used exclusively in large, bold font.
- The display can be zoomed to 200 percent without losing any content.
- The page has a main heading followed by a consistent section structure; navigation leads to the sections via jump labels.
- Buttons with their own surface area are at least 44 × 44 pixels in size.
Fonts are loaded from our own server; no connection to third-party servers is established.
